Bally
Old Chicago
Dave and I bought this game from Carl Heller and we sold it
to a friend of mine from DC. We had to do lots of restoration on
this thing. The cabinet had been painted white, the playfield was a
mess and it needed all new posts, rubber, etc. We did major touch up
work on the playfield and gave it about 4 coats of Varathane. It
played great when we sold it.
When we got the game the cabinet had been painted white. We didn't
have any luck getting the paint off and we decided that the original artwork
would take forever to duplicate. We came up with out own paint scheme.
The buyer was fine with the scheme since it fit perfectly into the color
scheme of his basement. Since it is owned by someone who is not a
serious collector, I guess the cabinet art is not that important.
