I bought this Old Chicago at the April 2002 Pheasant Run show in
Chicago for a friend at work. This game was one that Tim was looking
for to go with the Wizard that I found for him on eBay. I also
picked up a Bally Kick Off.
The only problem with this game was playfield wear by the
center out hole. I touched up the playfield before I dropped it
off. I think it turned out great. The only problem was that I
managed to destroy the carpet in my backroom when I was working on the
game. I was using a metal spot light so I could see what I was
doing. I accidentally let it drop on the floor and didn't pick it up
right away. The next thing I knew I smelled something burning.
I looked down and the damn light had landed right on the light bulb and
the bulb had burned right through the carpet. I'll tell you what, I
lost lots of money on this deal. But this might have been the first
pinball deal I made where my wife was happy. I thought she would be
mad, but she could hardly keep a straight face. She wanted new
carpet anyway and here was the perfect excuse.
