My Gamerom is in the basement. It was a miserable 8 month
project. I have done 90% of the work myself. Special thanks to Gary for doing all the
drywall finishing, and Peter and Mike for letting me use their tools. Gary told me he
would help if I didn't even try because it would be easier for him to just do it once
rather than fix my screw ups. Also a special
note of thanks to PJ for his (lack of) help. Thanks for nothing. |

I rented a laser level to do the ceiling. I worked from
11:00am through 7:30 AM non stop. I went through 12 drill bits because I used my Dremel as
a drill. The bits kept melting. I have been told that I'm an idiot because I didn't use my
drill. I used the drill to put in the screws that hold the ceiling up and I was too lazy
to swap bits. |

This project cost me lungs full of ceiling tile dust, a few
nights sleep, lots of money, and my left thumbnail. Did you know that the doctors use a
woodburner type tool to burn a hole in your nail to relieve pressure if you decide to
clobber it with a big hammer? The blood spurts through the nail like a geyser. Believe it
or not I was in so much pain that it felt good. I went to the doctor after spending 24
hours with my thumb in a cup of ice. When I ran up the stairs screaming in pain, my son
looked at me calmly and said "at least
you didn't shoot yourself with the nailgun Dad". That
helped a lot. |
